It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Brian Green on March 25, 2025.
We find comfort knowing he is reunited with his loving wife, Donna; his cherished sisters and brother; his son-in-law, Brian; and his dog, Molly. Brian is survived by his adored sister, Pam (Alan); sister-in-law, Sue (Norm); children, Paul (Jane), Steven (Andrea), Julie (Brian), Tom (Marilyn); his adored grandchildren, Jessica (Dan), Eric, Liam, Connor, Jack, Ethan and Sophia; and two great-grandchildren, Naomi and Josephine. He is fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, particularly Don and Ernie.
Brian was born in a small village in South Wales and met his wife Donna while on vacation in Canada in the late 1970’s. He immigrated and took on three stepchildren, no easy task. It wasn’t always smooth sailing, but he worked hard and did his best to provide stability for the family. Even though Canada became his new home, he maintained strong family connections with those overseas and visited often.
Known fondly as “Greeno”, Brian will be remembered for many things; his devotion to soccer, his short-tempered rants, golf, gardening and creating the best home brew (his words)! He was the only Welsh-man who couldn’t sing but it didn’t stop him from doing just that, cleverly making up words when he didn’t know the lyrics.
He could be impatient and stubborn but lived for family gatherings and annual visits from his devoted son, Paul. Brian never wavered in his belief that his grandchildren were perfect; they will miss his unconditional love and attention. Rest in peace Greeno, you were loved.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In his memory, donations can be made to a children’s or animal charity.
