Bradley Boardman
April 28, 1951 – February 23, 2025

Brad Boardman was a dynamic and determined individual. He used his years on this earth to assist others by giving his support, guidance, friendship and humour. He is the beloved husband of Debbie and loving father to Sheila and Andrew. He was a proud grandfather to Thomas and Laura, and Spencer. Later in life Brad became the proud owner of another love of his life, Ruby, his Irish Setter.
Brad became ill three years ago with pancreatic cancer. Throughout his illness he used his strength and determination to cope as well as he could. Brad had indicated that he wanted to pass away at home. We made him as comfortable as possible and we were able to be with him round the clock in his final days.
Brad was predeceased by his parents Ken and Moira. He was the dear brother of Bob (Connie), Ken, Julie, Ted, Tom (predeceased), Jennifer (Judy), Ron, Ken (Catherine). Brad will be missed by his brother and sister-in-law David and Jill. Brad will be remembered by his family, friends, nieces, nephews and the many people he came into contact with. His care, love and laughter will be sadly missed.
Brad was born in Toronto and grew up in Richmond Hill and spent some summers at the family cottage in Barrie. He lived in various locations in Ontario -Kaministiquia (Thunder Bay), Penetang, Peterborough, and Spencerville.
He loved scouting, camping both in the winter and summer, fishing, especially on the pontoon boat. Brad was a collector of both items and stories. He loved to work on his 57 truck, and talk about the day it would be finished. He was a life long member of Scouts both as a child and later as a leader. He served his community as a volunteer fire fighter when he lived in Kaministiquia.
He was not one for administration or bureaucracy he was a hands on person who just wanted to do what needed to be done. Most people who met Brad realized quickly that he was an avid and engaging story teller often with a family member in the background rolling our eyes because we had heard the story several times over and over.
Brad loved tinkering and fixing things and none of us could do it….like he could. He had a joy of living and sharing his passions and possessions with others. If someone needed something, he may have it and if not, he likely knew someone or someplace where he could get it. He always stepped up to be there for others.
The Senators were his hockey team and he was hopeful they’d be in the playoffs this year.
He was there for his family – driving, watching, cheering, supporting, challenging…and always sharing his opinion whether you needed it or not….
His friendships were invaluable and he enjoyed your visits and the telephone calls (when he could figure out his new cell phone).
Brad was a unique and caring individual who will be remembered fondly by each of us. We would invite family and friends to join us on Brads upcoming birthday, April 28, 2025 to share in a reflection of his life. This informal gathering will be held between the hours of 2-4 p.m. at 3414 County Road 21, Spencerville, Ontario. We hope you will drop by and share your memories with us.
