Catherine Mary Braden
August 5, 1950 – January 8, 2025
Catherine Braden, 74, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of the home she and Dave designed and built together.
Loving wife and best friend of Dave Braden. Amazing mum of Stephanie Gelderman (Jan) and Grady Twiss (Laura). Proud Nana of Spencer, Veronica, and Emerson. Loving sister of Paddy Newton (Don) and Riley O’Connor (Shirley). Will also be missed by Zoe. Cathy will also be remembered by Dave’s children and grandchildren.
Cathy taught with the HWDSB for 33 years. After her retirement, she and Dave traveled, doted on their grandchildren, and loved spending time at their cottage near Dorset.
Special thanks to her amazingly supportive sister, Paddy; friends Susan, Nan, and the “Yayas,” who were great supports as Mum battled through 6 years of Multiple Myeloma. Thank you to Dr. Wronzberg for his compassionate care.
At Cathy’s specific request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, Cathy wished for donations to any Food Bank.
