Also survived by her two aunts June Kennedy and Marlene Dixie and her mother-in-law, Eileen Elliott. Bonnie will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bonnie was 73 years old upon her passing. She was born on February 15, 1952, in Addison, Ontario. She attended T.I.S.S. and graduated from Athens District High School. After high school, she entered the workforce with Measurements International being her last position before retirement. Bonnie met Gary in 1970, and the two would eventually marry on September 21, 1974. A few years later in 1978, they welcomed their first child Amy, before completing their family with the birth of Mark in 1981.
Bonnie brought joy to everyone in her life. She enjoyed gatherings with family and friends for nights filled with friendly competition and cherished memories playing cards and Yahtzee while sharing a few laughs. Her love of shopping was well-known, as she was delighted in finding a good deal and looked forward to many shopping trips with her best friend Cathy. She enjoyed getting together with her dear friends, sisters and aunt over coffee or lunch whenever she could. Bonnie also took immense pride in her grandchildren, spending time with them whenever possible, with many sleepovers, camping in the summertime and of course cheering them on at their various sporting events.
Bonnie’s battle against cancer showcased her incredible perseverance and strength. Throughout her journey, she faced challenges with unwavering determination and a positive spirit that inspired everyone around her. Even during the toughest moments, Bonnie remained hopeful and resilient, demonstrating a remarkable ability to enjoy every day to the fullest. She was adamant that she was not going to live her life with Cancer, but Cancer would have to live with her. Bonnie’s strength not only impacted her life but also left a lasting impression on her loved ones, who admired her tenacity and grace. Her legacy of resilience will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
