Bob’s Obituary
Long time body man, Robert ‘Bob’ Nidish, from Berwyn (AB), passed away at the Peace River Community Health Centre-79 years of age young.
Born in Regina, Bob grew up in Lloydminster (AB/SK), the only place he knew as a child. He met Dorothy Doxtator and started the next phase of his life. After they married, with 3 kids in tow, the draw to northwest Alberta journied through smith (AB), Spirit River (AB), Fairview (AB), and eventually establishing in Berwyn (AB).
Bob drove oilfield, working for Frank Wald’s outfit Northern Camp Maintenance. Bob also honed his craft of vehicle autobody work, as for what he is known; ‘autobody’ was his legacy!
Hockey was a passion. Any time you would see Bob in a hockey sweater, he’d be wearing a “C”; the Berwyn Brewers was the last team for which he played.
Bob was a member of the Berwyn Elks for the longest time.
In the later years, Bob kept quiet. Much of this was associated with Dorothy’s passing. He was the last of his clan.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Wasyl ‘Bill’ & Francis Nidish; wife Dorothy; sister Audrey Fournier; and, brother John Nidish.
He is survived by children Rick (Cindy) Nidish, Brian (Shelley) Nidish, Janet Watchorn and Leonard Nidish, 11 grandchild and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will take place from the old Berwyn Legion, come Spring 2025.
