Bob Barr Obituary
On January 17, 2025, Robert (Bob) Arthur Barr of Creighton, SK, passed away peacefully at the Flin Flon General Hospital. Bob was born on September 27, 1930, in Hamiota, MB and raised in Oak River, MB. Bob and his family (parents Thomas and Clara Barr) moved to Flin Flon, MB, in 1940. Bob was predeceased by his siblings Glen, Valerie, Verne, and Evelyn.
In 1953, Bob married the love of his life, Norma Jean (Saddlemyer) Barr, and together they raised five children: Gaye Willetts (husband Gary Willetts) of Flin Flon, MB; Ron Barr of Denare Beach, SK; Verne Barr (wife Diana Barr) of Calgary, AB; Susan Schaworski (husband Randy Schaworski) of Saskatoon, SK; and Gordon Barr (wife Arlene Barr) of Calgary, AB. Bob was a devoted father who cherished his family and the moments they shared.
Due to the forest fire at Denare Beach, the graveside memorial service planned for Denare Beach Cemetery and subsequent informal gathering has been cancelled and a private invitation only celebration of life will be held July 21, 2025 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Bob was a gentleman, and he will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the legacy he leaves behind in his children and community. Rest in peace, Bob. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
