Beverly Emigh

It is with sadness the family announces that the death of Beverly Joan Emigh occurred at Parkridge Centre in Saskatoon on Thursday, February 27, 2025 with family by her side.
Joan was born on August 8, 1938 at Saskatoon City Hospital to parents Archie and Lucille Lamarsh.
She attended Buena Vista Elementary School, Nutana Collegiate and Saskatoon City Hospital of Nursing graduating with a degree in Registered Nursing in 1959 and was honoured with the Surgical Nursing Award of Excellence. She served as an operating room surgical nurse until she retired in 1961 to raise her family.
Joan served on the Rent Appeal Commission of Saskatchewan for seven years finishing as Chair in 1988 where her skills in public relations, mediation and writing were of great value.
Joan was extremely active and involved in many community organizations, serving as President of the Saskatoon City Hospital Nurses Alumnae, Board Member and President of Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation, Co-Chair of City Hospital Nurses Alumnae Reunion, Board of Directors of Saskatoon United Way, and Saskatoon Jazz Club Volunteer.
Joan volunteered over many years with numerous organizations and charities including the YWCA, Saskatoon United Way, Salvation Army, Kiwanis Walkathon, the Heart Fund, The Saskatoon Community Foundation, the Mendel Art Galley, and the Cancer Fund just to name a few.
She played an integral and founding role in the success and establishment of the Royal University Hospital’s “Gala Evening” and was co-chair of the City Hospital Foundation’s “Festival of Trees” that are still held annually.
In 1960 she married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Emigh. They had two sons, welcoming Michael in 1961 and Trent in 1962. There after the family memories began. She was a devoted wife and loving mom who followed all the kids sports and life activities and later did the same with her grandkids.
The family enjoyed many trips together over the years including skiing and vacations abroad. Some of the fondest memories took place at the family cabin at Emma lake. She enjoyed watching the all the kids playing on the beach, swimming, fishing, and tubing along with occasional fireworks displays on the beach. She loved ending each lake day with a glass or two of wine, sitting on the deck with Bob, watching the sunset.
Her growing extended family included grandchildren Dillon (Emily), Sienna, Miranda (Sean), David (Michaela), Dallas (Elizabeth) along with great grandchildren Ocea and Atlas. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Jack (late wife Christine). She is survived by her sister Judy (late husband Fred), and her sister-in-law Maureen as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was a huge believer in the power of positive thinking. She always advised that people could achieve anything they wanted if they believed in themselves and pursued their goals and dreams.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be profoundly missed by husband Bob, her family and all who knew her. It was a life well lived. She will be lovingly remembered and will always be in our hearts.
