KERMAN, Bette Burton (nee Metcalfe)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Bette Kerman. Bette passed away peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday, February 19th in her 95th year. Beloved wife of 54 years to Leonard until his passing in 2008. Bette was the daughter of the late Joel James Metcalfe and the late Mabel Dorothy Burton.
Loving mother to Stuart (Teresa) and David (Tania). Greatly loved Nanny to Geoffrey (Laura), Jennah (Matt), Sarah (Josh) and Daniel (Carly). Great Grandmother to Benjamin and Harland. Bette was predeceased by her sisters, Shirley (Coe), Marilyn (Bishop), and Gladys (Mould). Survived by sister Jacqueline (Marshall).
Bette was born and raised in Brockville, and spent all 95 years living in her hometown. An outstanding cook and baker and she enjoyed entertaining and socializing with her many friends. She and Len were proud members of the Brockville Country Club for many years. Bette was an avid curler, curling into her early eighties. She loved watching sports, particularly curling, tennis and golf.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent and compassionate care of both Bridlewood Manor and the Brockville General Hospital.
A private family funeral followed by a celebration of life will be held in May. Donations may be directed to the Brockville and District General Hospital Foundation.
