Bertha Mabel Evans
Bertha Mabel Evans of Stevensville Ontario, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, at the age of 98, in Niagara Falls Ontario. She was known as Bobbie by her many friends and Bert by her large family. Born June 13,1926, in a cook car in a farmer’s field not far from Crane Valley Saskatchewan Bertha carried her mothers work ethic and strength throughout her long life. She is predeceased by her husband of 16 years, William Grey Coulson (known as Grey) and her second husband of 28 years, Charles Gordon Evans (Known as Gord). After Greys’ death in 1965 Bertha returned to her trade as a hairdresser, purchased a salon and supported and raised her three young boys for 6 years on her own. She is survived by her partner of 22 years, Roy Rivers, her 3 sons Bill (Marnie), Marty (Tina) and Jim (Michelle) 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Bertha is also survived by sisters Margaret, Jean, Louise and Audrey, brothers Alvin and Roy and stepsons Craig and David Evans. Bertha was an avid golfer and played well into her 90’s. As requested by Bertha, there will be no funeral service and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity.
