Bernice Viola Pick
Bernice Viola Pick –
New Minas
Surrounded by her
loving family, she passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, at the
age of 92.
Bernice was born on
February 11, 1933, to Leta and Floyd Everett in Litchfield, Nova
Scotia. Bernice raised her four children alongside her husband, in
Fall River, before moving to Wolfville. She and Delbert owned and
operated Pick’s Grocery in Wolfville, NS, for many years where Bernice
became affectionately known to everyone as “Mrs.
Pick”.
Bernice had many
hobbies like baking, reading, and playing forty-fives. She loved to
sing in the church choir, go camping, and never missed a chance to be
on the dance floor. She was very active in her community, and she was
deeply devoted to her family, friends, and the Wolfville Ridge Baptist
Church.
Bernice is now
reunited with her beloved husband, Delbert, and her youngest daughter,
Diane, in Heaven. She is survived by her children, Deb Arnold (Gord)
of New Minas; Steve Pick (Mary) of Fall River; and Greg Pick
(Rosemary) of Fall River. Bernice leaves behind her cherished
grandchildren, Krista, Leslee, Sabrina, Melissa, Toni, Shane, and
Jessica, along with 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by
her sister, Yvonne Diaz of Colorado, USA, as well as many other family
members, dear friends, and her church family, all of whom will miss
her dearly.
The service will be
held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville, NS. Family flowers only and please no cards.
Although the family appreciates the thought, they would ask that you
instead save your money or if you wished, donate to the Wolfville
Ridge Church or put it to a cause that is near and dear to your own
heart.
