It is with heavy hearts the family of Bernard “Bernie” Gibson announces his passing on May 11, 2025 in his 83rd year. Loving husband of the late Lana Gibson (2015). Proud father of Tom (Margaret), Dan (Robin) and Derek (Kim). Cherished grandfather of Brooke (Matt) O’ Neill, Payton (Colton Petracca), Aaron and Madison. Great grandpa of Lillian O’Neill. Brother of the late Mary “Pat” (Ted) Wright. Cherished friend of Rina Joris. Bernie will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bernie was a father figure to many. He enjoyed having his son’s friends over to visit, he loved having everyone gather. Bernie was a Strathroy Minor Hockey Coach for many years. Bernie was a founding member of the Strathroy Blades/ Rockets, he was then inducted Wall of Honor.
A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Strathroy Middle General Hospital Foundation. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com
