Benjamin Arvid Hamilton, age 95 of Lake George, passed away May 17, 2025, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Pleasant Valley on August 26, 1929, he was a son to the late Arvid and Iva (Hurlburt) Hamilton.
Ben was a truck driver for Sanborne, a school bus driver, and owned and operated his own sawmill for many years. He was a hard-working man who was dedicated to his family. He had a very dry sense of humor and loved to tease. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Kendrick (Gayle), Curtis (Lisa); daughter, Susan Fuller; sister, Pearl Hemeon; grandchildren, Peter, Ben, Josh, and Crissy; great-grandchildren, Marley, Winter, Brooklyn, Ashton, and Alexa; his caregiver and friend, Marie Thibault.
Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Ross, Gerald, and Ernest, and his sister Marion.
The memorial service will be Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Pennell officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception in Jacob’s Loft Event Center above Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, South Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
