Peacefully surrounded by family at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Monday March 10, 2025. Basil Gavin is survived by his wife Sally (Markell), loving father of Arline Dickinson (Rob) and Mark Gavin (Christina). Dearest Grandfather to Erika, Cassidy, Mason, Hayden, Makayla and Ashton. Dear brother of Veronica Holly (the late Greg). Predeceased by three sisters Edith Gavin, Irene Fraser and husband Bob, Nora Holly and husband Basil and two brothers Leon Gavin and wife Irene and Fr. Joseph Gavin SJ. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home 63 Garden St. Gananoque on Monday March 17 from 1-3pm & 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church Gananoque on Tuesday March 18 at 11AM. Inurnment will be held in St. Patrick’s cemetery Lansdowne at a later date. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the U.H.K.F. (Cancer Centre) or to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated.
