MACDONALD, BARBARA MARIE
Surrounded by love, Barb passed away peacefully at Vedante Retirement Home, Bowmanville on January 16, 2025 at age 89.
Beloved wife of the late Bruce (Mac) Macdonald, cherished mother of Jo-Ann and David (Liz) and loving grandmother to Michelle, Kelly (Chris) and Aleisha. She was “Gramma Barbie” to seven great-grandchildren: Lauren, Kieran, Rowan, Jasper, Charlotte, Aaron and Khalen. Barb will be missed by her siblings Gerald (Marion) and Richard, and her extended family and friends.
Barb is predeceased by her parents Arnold and Emily Brown (nee Wilkins) and brothers Ernest, Walter and Douglas, all of Port Hope.
Barb was independent, loving and generous, with a positive, determined spirit. She cherished her family and friends dearly.
Special thanks to the staff and residents of Vedante that made our Mom’s time there so enjoyable.
Cremation has taken place and a family gathering will be held later.
Donations in her memory can be made to Lakeridge Health Bowmanville.
