Barb Wiltshire Obituary
Barbara Anne Wiltshire (née: Bellamy)
Oct 15, 1933 – February 20, 2025
Barb departed this world holding her dear husband Bob’s hand. A superbly fitting farewell to their life together as a married couple of over 70 years.
Barb was a lifelong BC girl, born near Victoria B.C. where the family at large had resided for many years. In the 1940s, the Bellamy family relocated to Vancouver, taking up temporary residency in the old Hotel Vancouver while parents, Violet (nee Cross) and Charlie Bellamy and brother Peter built their dream home in North Vancouver. This is where the family would settle for many years to come. Barb would soon meet the love of her life Bob, while the two attended North Vancouver High School. Wedding bells would soon follow and they would welcome children Greig (Christel) and Shelly (Jim), to round out their family. After their kids grew up, married, and started their own families, Barb and Bob packed up and relocated to the Okanagan, where they built a life for themselves in Peachland and more recently West Kelowna for their retirement years.
Fresh out of high school Barb was eager to join the work force and would accept a position at the Royal Bank on the corner of Georgia and Denman as her first real job. Her next job was the biggest of all: marriage and kids. Once she had that under her belt and running smoothly, she entered the department store world taking on a role as a Bridal Registry consultant at Eaton’s on Georgia and Granville. She relished in this position as she had a part in assisting many young couples with their wedding plans.
Barb and Bob shared a mutual love of travelling, and they certainly indulged in it. One of their favourite destinations was Kihei in Maui. For 50 years, they alternated between Maui and other parts of the world.
Barb, also known as Grams, adored her six grandchildren: Rhys, Dayna (Paul), Garret (Tami and soon-to-be +1), Emerson (Tanis), Marnie (Matt), and Kirsten. She also cherished her three grand pups, Reggie, Javi, and Goose, along with many others who were part of her life.
Barb, Mom, Grams, we will all miss you greatly, and we are truly blessed to have been a part of your life.
We’d like to thank the staff at the Macintosh Unit at Brookhaven. They are truly a warm and loving team and showed the care to our Mom as they would their own.
Rest in peace, Mom
