Obituary of Avery Colledge
After a life of capturing memories for an entire town, it is now Strathroy’s time to say “thanks for the memories” to our dear friend Avery.
Peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Hospice London, John Avery Colledge of Strathroy passed away at the age of 87, on March 12th, 2025. Loving husband and best friend of Lorie (Hogan) Colledge. Avery was the proud father and step-father of Julie (Brooks) Marsh, Dawn Colledge (Kathleen), Herb (Connie) Colledge, Matt (J.P. Motley) Gloin and Ben (Liz) Gloin. Dearest grandfather of Emily (Dan) Perez, David (Destiny) Schepers, Liam and Finn Gloin, and Hayden and Ashlyn Motley. Great grandfather of Silas, Foxx and Killian Schepers, and proud uncle of 8 nieces and nephews (one pre-deceased) and 17 great nieces and nephews.
Avery is survived by his sister Karen Gardner (late Don Gardner), brother Brian (Rosemarie) Colledge, and sister-in-law Marlene Colledge (late David Colledge, brother) and also predeceased by his sister Arlene (Colledge) Kelly and husband Bill Kelly.
Friends and family are invited to join together on March 21st, 2025, at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY, from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. for a memorial visitation. Beaver Lodge No 83, A.F & A.M. will conduct a Masonic Service prior to the visitation on March 21st, 2025.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Strathroy, followed by a reception at All Saints Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Shriners Hospitals for Children- Canada, St. Joseph’s Hospice London, or All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Strathroy would be greatly appreciated as an expression of your sympathy.
