Arthur’s Obituary
DULONG, Arthur Frank – age 77, passed away at home on Thursday, January 23, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer and COPD. Born in Hubbard’s Point on February 26, 1947, he was a son of the late Enos and Mary Helen “Nellie” (Muise) Dulong.
Arthur worked as a scallop fisherman aboard the Lady boats for the most part of his working life. He was a family man who loved his grandkids with all he had. He enjoyed old westerns, hunting camping and most of all, playing darts.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet Dulong (Surette); daughter, Sheila (Brian) Foster; sons, Mark (Delia) Dulong, Robert (Jennifer) Dulong; grandchildren, Holly, Courtney (Kris), Ashley (Colton),Alysha, Shane (Brooke), Tiffany (Jordan), Brittany (Calder), Brandon, Thristen (Erica), Austin (Georgia); great grandchildren who he loved dearly, Maddie, Westyn, Ellie, Jace, Maxine, Dylan, Josie, Wesley, Jackson, Bennett, Jack, Braxton, Sadie, Millie, and Theo; also survived by, his siblings Anna Armith, Vancouver; Alphie (Gaetin) Dulong, Ontario; Cecil (Ardella) Dulong, Quebec; Joe Dulong, Halifax; Lawrence (Sandra) Dulong, Hubbard point; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Besides his parents, Arthur is predeceased by brothers, Paul and Damien.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 7-9 pm, with prayers at 8 pm in Huskilson’s Funeral Chapel, Yarmouth. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 am in St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Arthur may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund, The Lung Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of one’s choice.
