It is with great sadness that we, the family of Arthur Fredrick Collins announce his passing. Art passed peacefully away on January 9th, 2025 at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre with his loving wife by his side.
Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Dorothy Collins, stepfather Robert Keats, sisters Elsie, Elizabeth and his brother Willis.
Left to mourn with broken hearts are his wife of 57 years, Ida (Nee Powell), daughters Darlene (Aaron), Dorothy (Rick), and son Arthur (Tammy). Grandchildren Kyle, Alicia and Olivia. Art also leaves to mourn numerous brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, along with his huge circle of friends.
Art was loved and admired by all who knew him. He will be missed greatly by his family and many friends. He was an avid outdoors man, hunting, fishing, berry picking, riding his “quad” and in boat. He always had a great story to tell, leaving anyone he spent time with better for just being in his presence. There will be a hole left in the community he called home.
Cremation has taken place.
Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 14th at 2:00 P.M. at the United Church, Happy Adventure. Interment at the United Cemetery, Eastport. All are welcome to attend a reception at the SUF Hall following the Cemetery.
Special Thanks to the staff of the Family Care Unit at James Paton Memorial Health Centre for their care of Art and their support to the family during his stay in the Hospital.
