It is with heavy hearts that we announce
the passing of Arnold James (Jim)
Mitchell, aged 85, of Springhill, Nova Scotia, on April
6, 2025.
Born on September 19, 1939, Jim was the
beloved son of the late Verna Margaret Mitchell and Walter Edward
Mitchell.
He worked for many years as a custodian
at Springhill High School, where he was respected for his strong work
ethic and quiet kindness.
Jim enjoyed life’s simple
pleasures—he loved hunting, bowling and playing cards with
his friends and family. His warm presence and steady nature will be
missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his brother Walter
Terrence Mitchell (Lillian) and will be fondly remembered by his
nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, as
well as his siblings Ralph, Glenn, William, and Brenda.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of the A. H. Brown Funeral
Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361).
As per Jim’s wishes there will be no visitation or
Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the South
Cumberland Community Care Centre in Parrsboro in
Jim’s memory.
