Obituary for
Arnold Gordon Bursey
Arnold Gordon Bursey, age 93 of Lamont, Alberta passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2025. He was born on August 19, 1931, to Pastor Frank and Hazel Bursey in Victoria-Carbonear, Newfoundland.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joan; son, Glenn; daughters, Gail and Rhonda Lynn (Terry); grandchildren, Kirk, David (DJ), Dawne (Adam), Michael, Corey (Rachel) and Kyle; great-grandchild, Benjamin; as well as nieces and nephews, Peter Bursey, Helen Bursey, Donna Bursey, Philip (Karen) Slade, Lois Slade, Geoff (Shona) Slade, Carla (Pete) Diamond, David Paul Bursey, Lesa Lidstone, Steve Lidstone, Linda Lidstone and Darrel Lidstone.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Hazel; siblings, Ada (Hubert) Slade, Elmer (Ina) Bursey and David Bursey; parents-in-law, Arthur and Elizabeth Lidstone; and brother-in-law, Edwin (Joy) Lidstone.
Arnold was one of a kind and was loved by all who knew him. A better husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather or friend could never be found. His love for God and family knew no bounds. He was passionate about trains and was very proud to be “a railway man” most of his career. He was a man of few words but had a wonderful sense of humour and was always up for a “game” with friends and family. He loved unconditionally and lent a hand to anyone in need. He will be forever missed.
As per Arnold’s wishes, there will be no funeral or services held.
