Arne Hansen Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Arne Aksel Hansen announce his peaceful passing at home on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, at the age of 88. He is the beloved husband of Sandra Hansen for over 54 years. Arne’s loss will be deeply felt by his children Dana (Laurie) Hansen, Karen (the late Woody) Hynes and Aleda (Gary Rent) Hansen, by his grandchildren Christopher, Christian, Keegan, Tyler, Brayden, Joel, Steven, Bryan, Ben and Julie and his great-grandchildren Clodagh, Aksel, Calvin and Denton as well as his special niece Birgitte Nielsen. Arne is predeceased by his son Brian Hansen and son-in-law Woodrow Hynes.
Arne immigrated to Canada in 1958 and had a long and distinguished career between Kent Line and Norbulk Shipping. He was a jack of all trades and a master of many, there was really nothing he could not do or given enough time figure a creative solution for. His love for his family will endure and his passing will leave a hard to fill hole in their hearts.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025 from 1-2 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow on Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Fundy Chapel. For those wishing to do so, donations to the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
