It’s with profound sadness we announce the passing of Tony Dashnay on Saturday March 15, surrounded by the love of his family. Tony was predeceased by his wife Sharon (2015) and son in law Chris (2008). Beloved Daddy of Carolyn (Tim), Shawna (Brad) and Tony. He leaves behind his grandchildren and their families. Keilyn (Jake, Benneit and Lennon) Hayward, Connor(Zoë, Gideon, Winnona) Boehnert, Jordan (Megan, and Luci) Shepherd, Cassandra (Rico) Shepherd, Fiona, Madison, Hudson and Marlow Dashnay.
Tony was born on June 4, 1944 in North Bay. He is predeceased by his parents Edwin and Marion and a sister and brother. He is survived by 5 siblings. Tony was a retiree of Stelco. Dad was an avid outdoors man. Always enjoying his time at his happy place, his camp in Northern Ontario.
He spent years hunting, fishing, playing hockey, baseball, curling and broomball. There wasn’t a sport he didn’t enjoy.
We would like to thank Dad’s palliative health care team, especially Elana, Traci, Shannon, Bailey and Dalton, whose professionalism and compassion was so appreciated.
Lastly, we would like to extend our condolences to Dad’s wide-ranging group of incredible friends. Your friendship, companionship and love was so lovely to witness. We know how special he was to you. Thank you.
Following Dad’s wishes cremation and a private family celebration has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, Port Dover 519-583-1530.
