With sadness, we announce the passing of Anthony Carneiro of Toronto at the age of 87. Tony leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Delphina, his children Karen (Colin) and Simon (Michelle), and grandchildren Brendan (Christina), Niall and Aidan.
Tony was a graduate of Royal Technical College, Nairobi, Kenya and Imperial College, London, UK. A member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), his career started with the Public Works Department in Tanzania. In Canada he enjoyed 20 years with the Ontario Public Service and remained a proud member of OPSEU.
Throughout his life he gave back to the community through various charitable and service organizations such as Boy Scouts, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Toronto Midtown Lions Club, serving on the Board for Lawrence Heights Medical Centre and as an usher at St. Charles Borromeo Church.
Private family service will be held..
The family thanks the many nurses, student nurses and personal support workers of Humber River Hospital 9 East and RCC Finch for their professional and compassionate care. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto (alz.to) or Humber River Hospital Foundation – Finch Campus would be appreciated.
