Annie Irene (Purdy) Frederick – It is with heartbreak we announce the passing of Annie Frederick, age 70, of North Wallace. Annie passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre with her daughter Tammy holding her hand.
Annie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She leaves behind her two daughters, Tammy (Danny) Robblee and Brittany (Tyler) Grunig; grandchildren Adam (Jacy) Frederick, Wyatt Fisher, River Jean Grunig and Ridge Grunig; siblings, Donna King, Roy Purdy, Jimmie Purdy and Wendy MacLeod. She is predeceased by her husband Randy Frederick.
Annie’s true happiness was found when surrounded by her family. Her door was always open, kettle on, and at any given time family and friends would be gathered around her dinning room table. She was the “go-to” for so many. She knew exactly what needed to be said and when you needed to hear it most.
A homebody, she was strong, stubborn and predictable, in all the best ways. Her day would start by having a coffee and an egg with her brother Jimmie. She talked to her daughters everyday and more recently always looked forward to FaceTiming with her Ontario grandchildren. Her calling was to be a dedicated mother. Her pride and joy, without a doubt, were her grandkids. She would laugh at the age gap, “the first stock” and “the new editions”, having two adult grandsons and two grand-babies. She was so proud to see Adam and Wyatt grow up and loved being a part of their daily lives. Her final two years were filled with so much joy and excitement with the edition of “Nana’s darling babies,” River and Ridge.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department, with a special thanks to Courtney Leard, and the hospital staff at CRHCC. A burial will take place at a later date in Fox Harbour. Donations to the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department in Annie’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
