Anna May Aldous (nee Dobbyn) 81 years of Petrolia, passed away at C.E.E. Hospital in Petrolia on February 15, 2025. Born in Chatham Ontario, the daughter of Roland and Ruth Dobbyn of Shetland, Ontario. Predeceased by her brother Owen in 2021 who is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jessie. Anna May was the loving wife of Robert (Bob) Aldous for 55 years. Anna May was the proud mother of Eric (Janet), Trevor (Kirsty) and Paul Aldous (Jenneil). Dearly missed by her grandchildren, Sarah, Jack, Ben and Zoe.
Anna May had a wonderful career as a Special Education teacher in the North York and Toronto School Boards and member of the staff at Adventure Place, supporting children learning to regulate themselves over a period of 30 years. In her retirement, she became and accomplished artist, using several mediums including watercolours and acrylics. Her custom birthday and Christmas cards gave great pleasure to family and friends
A service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia. A private interment in Hillcrest Cemetery will take place. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to C.E.E. Hospital Foundation (ceehf.ca).
