ANN BASSETT-ELLIOTT (nee: Judge)
Jane Ann Beattie Lowe (Judge) Bassett-Elliott Born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland on October 30, 1943. Surrounded by her family at The Royal Henley on Friday, February 28, 2025, from complications of metastatic breast cancer. Missed by her loving daughters; Colleen (Michael) FitzGerald, Elaine (Joe) Bassett-Kollee, and Marcy (Dan) Bassett-Kennedy. Ann was a cherished Granny to her grandchildren: Whitney (Ryan), Vanessa (Justin), Dayne (Jocelyn), Evan, Taryn (Sam), Morgan, and Ian and Isla. Survived by her beloved brother, Robert Judge (Roseanne) and family. Reunited in Heaven with her loving parents Robert Judge (d.1991) and Helen “Ella” Judge (d.1986). Predeceased by her beloved dogs Murray and Maggie.
In 1952 Ann emigrated with her family to Niagara Falls from Scotland. She attended high school at NFCVI and her first post-education position was with Bell Canada at 17 years of age. While raising her family, Ann was active in bowling leagues, slow-pitch soft-ball, and as a Brownie Leader. In her forties, Ann earned the distinction of First Lieutenant with the Port Dalhousie Power Squadron, and she was a proficient sailor. Ann was an avid sewist, knitter and loved travelling to the south, especially to her home in Naples, Florida for many years. She enjoyed attending live theatre and was a wonderful dancer. Ann had a soft spot for animals and was a supporter of animal charities.
Special thanks to Dr. Bisson and her team at the Walker Cancer Centre for their ongoing care; to Dr. Jayawardene and the wonderful staff at The Royal Henley for their kindness and compassion. Thank you to our friends and family who came by to lend support, visit, share memories, flowers and offer sympathy.
The family will receive friends at Morse and Son Funeral Home-5917 Main St, Niagara Falls, on Wednesday March 5, 2025, between 10-11am, with a celebration of Ann’s life to begin at 11am. Following the service, friends and family are invited to the Morse & Son Event Centre for a time of fellowship, refreshments and continued sharing of Ann’s memory. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish, in lieu of flowers may make a memorial donation to Hospice Niagara. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com.
