Obituary of Andy Solet
Passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025. Son of the late Andrew Solet (Soletormos) and Elizabeth Solet (nee Stanko). Loving husband of Carol Solet (nee Hunt) for 63 years. Devoted father of Terry (Melanie), Chris (Carrie) and Andrew (Brooke). Cherished Nagy Papa of T.J., Andie, Cadye, Markus and Mickayla. Dear brother of late Irma Litz (Dan) and late Dennis (Julie). Beloved brother-in-law of late Pat (Richard), late Gary and late Donna (Kenny). He will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Andy retired in 1993 after 30 years as a teacher and principal with the Windsor Es Catholic School Board. During that time, he was active with many organizations in the city including Riverside Minor Baseball Association, United Way (Man of the Year recipient), Crime Stoppers, and countless other non-profit organizations.
Andy kept himself busy in retirement, finding joy (and frustration) on the golf course, cooking, bowling, playing pool and dedicating time to his grandkids for baseball road trips, watching plays and exchanging texts. Most importantly, Andy loved conversation and had an amazing knack for running into an old acquaintance, no matter the time or place. Andy always took the time to truly listen and really appreciated what they had to say.
Memorial visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home- South Chapel 3048 Dougall Avenue (519 253-7236) on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 3pm to 5pm and 6pm to 9pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11:00am in the chapel. A private interment will follow at a later date.
