Andrew was born July 20, 1957, at Melville SK. He attended a few different schools during his childhood, at Tantallon SK, Tessier SK, Biggar SK, and Saskatoon, SK.
Andrew joined the army at eighteen years old. He became a heavy duty mechanic with the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He served in Calgary AB, Germany and Cypress, over the next 10 years. He returned to Saskatoon and worked as a mechanic for various companies including Superior Propane, converting RVs and vehicles to run on propane. After almost blowing himself up he looked around for some other employment, so his sister got him a position as a mechanic with Frontec, which was the company taking over the DEWline.
He spent the rest of his employment years in the Arctic. During this time, he fulfilled his dream of riding motorcycles. He got himself on a custom Harley Davidson and spent his time off riding with his nephew Troy. Andy made many many friends all over Canada and the USA. After retiring he pursued his riding full time.
He also enjoyed time with his family and friends golfing, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed a good golf game (especially with Dad) he used to talk about this part of his life often. Andy was notoriously known for his rib crushing bear hugs that could take away the troubles of the world and make anyone feel at home. He could fit seamlessly in any group and without a care or a thought be like the wind onto the next adventure. Many of his adventures were shared with his best friends Gary, jean and their family at fishing at Christopher lake, golfing at Emma and the Lazy K, ice fishing at blackstrap, or just endless hours around the campfire. Andy also loved to help everyone out. He was always there to help a buddy move, cut trees down or get ready for an event and events there were many. He was always on the road to many rallies. Andersonville, Beef n Barley, Eastend, the Knuckleheads Runs, and many many more. Andy truly had a zest for life. His favorite saying was “Party Hardy”
He is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Doris George, and two brothers and one sister that died in infancy He is survived by his four brothers and sisters, six nephews and two nieces.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place sometime in the spring of 2025.
