Obituary
Passed peacefully away on December 27, 2024, at the Health Sciences Centre, Andrew Sooley, of Heart’s Delight.
Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth-Ann and Sidney-Jack Sooley; parents-in-law Malchus and Jessie Chislett; brothers Sterling, Herman, George, Pleman, Norm, Aubrey, Calvin and Robert; sisters Lottie, Shirley, Lillian and Isabelle; and brothers-in-law Nelson and Ronald Chislett.
Leaving to mourn are his wife of 64 years, Mildred; children Karen (Robert), Glenn (Ina) and Todd (Paula); grandchildren Desiree, Justin, Bobbi-Jo and Devin; great-grandchildren Sebastian, Mackswell, Maeve, Tilly and Wesley; sister Betty; brothers-in-law Percy (Judy), Ross (Verna), Gary (Francis) and Marshall (Cynthia); sisters-in-law Kathleen and Alma; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends far and wide.
If you met Andrew, you felt you knew him your entire life. He was a man who never wanted anything but gave everything. He was the “king of one-liners” and his sense of humor will forever be remembered. From Newfoundland to Ontario, he had many, many friends. During his drives to Ontario, he would visit each friend making a 3-day drive turn into 3 weeks, “travellin’ the road like a gypsy”.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held from the Parish of The Epiphany, Heart’s Delight, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Funeral service will be from the Parish of The Epiphany, Heart’s Delight, on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Inurnment to follow at St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery, Heart’s Delight.
