Obituary of Amanda Eileen Thompson
It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Amanda (Mandy) Eileen Thompson,42 of Spryfield on January 3, 2025. She is survived by her mother Ruth (Bib) Thompson, Hammonds Plains, her partner, Shilo Beals whom she loved dearly, and her sister, Amber (Richard) Thompson, Dartmouth. She is also survived by her aunts, Patsy, Timberlea, and Donna, Bible Hill, and her uncle Bozo, as well as nieces, Maddie and Chloe, and nephew, Aiden who she loved as her own. She was a special mother to Shy’rissa, Nashia, Janelle, and Santana, and special son, Christian, whom she loved dearly and thought of as her own. She will also be remembered by her many other special nieces and nephews who she loved as her own, along with her step-sisters, Tammy Shields and Tara Taylor, and special sisters, Candace Conrad, Tanya Young and Terrylee Graham. She was a loving godmother to many. Mandy was predeceased by her father, Chris Thompson, and grandparents Delores and Lawrence McKay, who she missed dearly.
Mandy was a beautiful girl who brought joy and light to everyone around her. Her love for children was evident in everything she did, she had a unique ability to connect with people bringing smiles and laughter everywhere she went. She always found time to lend a helping hand, a comforting hug and offer advice without judgement. Mandy was a shining example of how to treat others, as she always wanted the best for everyone. She was a bright light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her and her journey on earth was one marked by love and compassion and her passing has left a void in the hearts of family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We hope that you remember her not for how her life ended, but for the way her life was lived and the impact she had on those who were blessed to call her a friend or family. She loved to travel, she explored new places and cultures and was always excited to learn and grow. Although she may not physically be with us, we will forever remember her laughter, her energy, the warmth she brought into our lives, and her zest for life. Her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us and her light will shine forever in our hearts. She will be forever loved and missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 5-12 pm at the Spryfield Legion, 7 Sus Street, Halifax. In memory of Mandy, please do something kind to help a child in need.
