The passing of Alyre S. LeBlanc of McAdam, NB occurred on
Saturday February 15, 2025, at the Charlotte County Hospital in St
Stephen, NB.
Alyre was born 1930 in Concession, NS, a son of the late
Isaac and Zita LeBlanc.
Papa was a lifelong outdoorsman. He made a career
of working in the woods, including working for Georgia-Pacific for
over 20 years. Many of his hobbies were also outdoor
related; hunting, trapping, cutting firewood, attending numerous
lumberjack competitions in Princeton, Maine and especially vegetable
gardening. Luckily, he passed his green thumb on to a
special great-granddaughter, Carly. Papa’s entire
yard was made up of perfect vegetable gardens without a single weed to
be found. He would say, “because I didn’t
plant any”, but we knew it was because of the hours and hours he,
Zena and Carly spent planting, tending and harvesting those
gardens. He would welcome school trips so students could
come and see where veggies come from. Alyre spent many
evenings bowling at the McAdam bowling lanes.
He was a proud was a proud Acadian – there were
many Acadia Day celebrations in his kitchen with music, dancing and
rappie pie. Papa loved afternoon teatime with Zena and
Carly. He would always have a special treat ready for
everyone, even where Carly brought her friends over.
He will be missed by his daughter; Zena MacMaster (Glen),
grandchildren; Krista LeBlanc (Troy), Trever LeBlanc, Samantha
LeBlanc, Jesse LeBlanc, Diane MacKay (Andy), Julia Cleghorn (Bryce),
many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, his brother;
Arnold LeBlanc (Sarah), daughter-in-law, Carol Anne LeBlanc, cousins,
nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Alyre was predeceased by his
loving wife of 54 years, Cerita LeBlanc, son; Eddie LeBlanc, infant
daughter; Lisa Marie, brothers; Ambroise, Agno, Artidore and Arcade,
sisters; Alix and infant; Aimee.
A funeral service will be held at a later
date.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the
doctors, nurses and staff of the Charlotte County Hospital for the
compassionate care given to Papa during his brief stay.
Also, thanks to Dr Ramsay in McAdam, for her many years of committed
support to keep Papa as healthy and active as possible. Also to the
extra-mural nurses that made numerous home visits and the Life Line
staff for their continued support over the years.
