It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aline Roy, on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025 at the Cornwall Community Hospital, at the age of 90 years. Aline was the proud & caring daughter of André & Monica (Dapratto) Lauzon. She was the last surviving member of a family of 10 children. Aline wore many different hats in her lifetime (figuratively and literally). At age 16, she became a full-time caregiver for her mother and later on, a caregiver for her father. For 69 ½ years, she was the loving and devoted wife of Gérald (Gerry) Lionel Roy (1931- 2024). For 68 years, she was the adoring mother of her only son, Gérald Émile Roy (1955- 2023). She later became the supportive mother-in-law of Gisèle (Rouleau) Roy. She was the proud grand-mother of Dominic Roy (Sylvie), Sébastien Roy, Mylène Lacroix & France Lacroix-Pelloni (Umberto). In her later years, much to her delight, she became the doting great-grandma to Vincent Roy (2007-2024), Chloée Roy, Ève Roy & Jacob Lacroix-Cardinal. Aline was talented and succeeded in everything she attempted. She literally wore many different hats while performing a multitude of dance routines with her dance groups. She enjoyed curling, singing in choirs, playing cards (especially Bridge) and performing on stage or volunteering as an usher at Aultsville Theatre. Despite being so involved in the community, she was always excited about our big family gatherings, ready to entertain or be entertained. We will remember her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. Life will never be the same for those of us who knew her and will miss her terribly. But our consolation is that she is now reunited with her “boys”, Gerry, Gérald & Vincent.
Visitation will take place at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street (613-938-3888) on Thursday March 13th from 9a.m. – 11a.m. and followed by a Memorial Service at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Aline has requested that, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations be made to Aultsville Theatre, Cornwall, ON. Online condolences may be shared at www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
