It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Philomena Augustine, who left us peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, in London, Ontario, at the age of 84.
Born on June 13, 1940, in Bangalore, India, Alice was the last surviving child of ten born to Anthony and Mary Pinto. In 1969, she courageously moved to Canada to begin a new chapter, dedicating her professional life to nursing at London Health Sciences Centre in the labour and delivery ward.
Alice’s faith was the foundation of her life. A devout Catholic, her days were shaped by prayer, the sacraments, and a deep trust in God’s providence. She found joy and strength in her close-knit church community. Alice expressed her love most tangibly through food, and many were blessed by her warm hospitality and lovingly prepared meals. Feeding others was her way of showing care – a gift she gave generously. In her quiet moments, Alice found peace in her garden. Tending to her flowers and vegetables, her garden was a place of prayer and reflection. While deeply spiritual, Alice also had a playful and spirited side. A devoted hockey fan, she cheered faithfully for her beloved Montreal Canadiens.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Joe Augustine; her beloved son Andrew and his wife Tomoko; and her three treasured grandchildren, Alex, Nicky, and Max. Though she was the last of her siblings, Alice’s heart held the memory of each of them, and her legacy will live on in the generations to come.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London. A reception for family and friends to follow the Mass at the Grand Theatre London, Developers Rehearsal Hall, 471 Richmond Street, London. Please enter through the stage door on Dufferin Street.
