Alice Bannister
1934-2025
It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful
passing of Alice Bannister (Teakles) on March 7th, 2025, at the Jordan
LifeCare Centre. Born in Portage Vale on September 4th 1934, she was a
daughter to the late Byron & Rose Teakles.
Alice enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and most of all time
spent with her family. She liked to travel and would always end up
making all kinds of friends in her travels.
Alice is survived and sadly missed by her children: Debora
Cummings (Hazen) of Sus, David Bannister (Brenda) of Elgin, Terry
Bannister (Heather) of Portage Vale, Linda Biggar (Howard) of Corn
Hill, Lois McMackin (Dale) of Petitcodiac and Joyce Bannister
(Jonathan) of Havelock; her brother, Kenneth Teakles of Moncton; her
16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren as well as her nieces
and nephews.
Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband,
Delbert Bannister of 68 years; her sisters: Dorothy Collrin, Laura
Wyse and Charlotte Steeves.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the
staff for their excellent care of Alice in her time at the
Jordan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury
Funeral Home, 506-372-4800 from where visitation will be held on
Tuesday, March 11th from 12:30pm until time of
the Funeral Service at 2:00pm with reception to follow. Interment at
the Portage Vale Cemetery will take place at a later
date.
If desired donations made to Jordan LifeCare Centre or a
charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated
by the family.
