It is with great sadness we announce the
passing of Alfred William Sr. “Bill”
Cardy, age 93 of Amherst. Bill passed away on Saturday,
January 18th, 2025 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre.
Born in Paris, ON, he was a son of the
late Charles and Elizabeth May (Smith) Cardy.
After a forty year career with the TD
Bank, Bill and Glenna retired in Amherst in 1987. They
enjoyed many years traveling to visit family back home in Ontario, and
in the Maritimes. He enjoyed his hobbies which included model
railroads and computers. Since the passing of his beloved wife Glenna,
he was able to live in his own home with the help of his oldest son
Bill. They enjoyed visiting family and eating
out. One of his favorite restaurants was Patterson’s in
Sackville. He enjoyed visiting with the staff on an almost
weekly basis.
Bill will be dearly missed by his sons
Bill Jr., Brian (Cathy), Brad (Edith), Barry (Theresa); 8
grandchildren, Sarah, James, Elizabeth, Seth, Heather, Alex, Erica,
and Hannah; several great grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by his wife Glenna and siblings John and Kathleen.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the
Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). Following Bill’s wishes, a
graveside service will take place in the Spring.
