RICHIBUCTO, NB – It is with great sadness that the
family announces the passing of Albert Babineau, who passed away
peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital in Ste. Anne-de-Kent on
Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in
Richibouctou-Village, NB, on January 18, 1932, he was the son of the
late André Babineau and the late Florida (Collette)
Babineau.
Albert was known as a jack of all trades—he worked
as a carpenter, fisherman, and construction worker, always willing to
try his hand at anything. He had a kind heart and was eager to help
those in need. He enjoyed being around people and engaged in
conversations with everyone. Albert took great pride in his children
and grandchildren.
Albert will be sadly missed by his children, Huberte
Hébert (Adrien) of Ste. Anne-de-Kent and Edmond Babineau
(Ginette) of Rexton; his sisters, Alvina LeBlanc (late Elias) of
Bouctouche and Simida Richard (late René) of Richibucto;
his brother, Jean “Jack” Babineau (late Alexina) of St.
Louis-de-Kent; his Grandchildren, Michel (Charlene), Jacques
(Caroline) and Claude (Natalie); his Great Grandchildren, Liam and
Lexi; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife,
Eliza (Richard) Babineau and his step mother, Rosalie
Richard.
Visitation will begin on Monday, January 13, 2025, from
7:00-9:00 p.m. and the following day, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of
the service. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, January
14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in
Richibucto.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Les
Résidences du Hâvre, the Stella Maris Hospital
team, and both Dr. Pierre LeBlanc and Dr. Eric Martin for the
exceptional care provided to Albert.
In memory of Albert, donations may be made to the Palliative
Care Unit at Stella Maris Hospital and to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of
Canada; they would be greatly appreciated.
