Albert “Ab” Beaulieu
1930-2025
It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of Albert Thomas
Beaulieu, husband of Jean (Haddad) Beaulieu, on Tuesday, March 25,
2025, at the Grand Falls General Hospital.
Albert (Ab) was born in Siegas, NB on April 14, 1930, he was the son
of the late Louis Beaulieu and late Alice (Michaud) Beaulieu. Ab
leaves behind his two sons, Brian (Barbara) of Plaster Rock and David
(Carole) of Fredericton; a special granddaughter, Stephanie (Mitchell)
Stevens of Fredericton. He’s also survived by brothers-in-law
and sisters-in- law, Irène and Maurice Dionne of Plaster Rock and
David and Judy Haddad of Ontario, as well as many nephews and
nieces.
Ab was the last surviving member of his family. He was predeceased by
his daughter Sharon; his parents; his sisters Ida McCarthy, Viola
Menard, and Sister Georgette Côté; and two brothers Guy
Côté and Wilbrod Côté.
Ab was loved by everyone, he was kind, loving and generous. He worked
with Fraser company from a young age until his retirement. He was
always ready and willing to give a helping hand to his community and
parish. Ab was also a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.
After retirement Ab made beautiful cedar striped canoes, which can be
seen going down the Tobique river every summer. Then he became a
woodturner and made the most beautiful bowls out of trees and big
burls.
In 2002 Ab was asked to handcraft the Plaster Rock World Pond Hockey
Championship Goodwill Cup and all the small trophies for the winning
teams. He did it with honor with the help of his son Brian. Many
people in New Brunswick and around the world have a bowl or a trophy
in their homes with his name on it, something to be very proud
of.
A Funeral Mass for Ab will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas in Plaster
Rock, New Brunswick on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 2 pm. Father Gilbert
