Born August 3, 1958, Kevin Richard Adams departed this life unexpectedly of natural causes on February 9, 2025, at the age of 66. With his beloved Barbara by his side. Kevin was born and raised in Vernon. His passing marks the end of a remarkable chapter, one filled with curiosity, and the joy of human connection.
Kevin leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Barbara, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond spanning four decades. Together, they were eagerly anticipating their 35th wedding anniversary on February 17, 2025 – a milestone that speaks to their enduring love. Kevin is also survived by his parents, Carl and Ruth Adams; his siblings Brian (Stephanie) Adams, Sue (Rick) Gilchrist, and Deron Adams; niece Jennifer Gillis; nephews Tristan (Adam) Gilchrist and Nathan Adams (Lyndsay); grandnieces Hazel and Kayleigh; grandnephew Ryker; as well as his mother-in-law, Shirley Henry; his brother-in-law Ken Henry and sister-in-law Nancy (Rob) Vos. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Don Henry.
Professionally, Kevin spent his early days in the golf industry starting at Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club, and later working at the UBC Golf and Country Club while living in Vancouver. Upon moving to Kelowna, Kevin changed careers and became a care aide dedicating over 25 years to compassionate care at Mountainview Care Facility.
A history buff with a particular fascination for the strategies and decisions of wartime, Kevin spent hours building detailed war memorabilia models. He was an avid reader, enjoyed crosswords, loved rock and roll music, and following hockey and football. Fishing on the Okangan’s wonderful lakes brought him solace and comfort.
The winters found Kevin and Barb soaking up the sunshine in Mexico and later purchasing property there. It was a must-go destination for them that brought warmth to their lives. His curiosity, kindness, and love for travel made every moment an opportunity for discovery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
