Kathleen “Kay” Bernice Creaser of Lunenburg (formerly of Riverport) passed away peacefully among family on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg.
Born in LaHave, NS, on November 15, 1916, Kay was the eldest child of Eldridge Joseph and Janet (Sperry) Publicover.
In her youth, Kay assisted her mother in nursing the sick and helping with the birth of babies. She married Leo Bushen Creaser, with whom she raised two sons, and together they shared a love of music, travel, and family life. Kay was active in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Riverport, and later in Calvin Presbyterian Church, Halifax, where she served as President of the Ladies Guild. She was an avid gardener, knitter, quilter, bowler and card player, known for her practicality, honesty, and devotion to family and friends.
Kay is survived by her youngest sister Ola Hirtle; sons, Basil (Sandra) and Edward; grandchildren Lynn (Arthur), Brian (Janet), Cathy, and David (Krista); great-grandchildren Alec, Sarah, Ben, Emily, Mathew, Ryan, Amy, Lauren, and Brittany; as well as five great-great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her dear husband, Leo; daughter-in-law, Edith and siblings, Gloria, Annie, Vesta, Basil, Eric, and Vivian.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy 3, Lunenburg and from where a service will be held on Friday, September 26, at 2:00 pm, Rev. Vivian Moores officiating.
Donations in Kay’s memory may be made to Harbour View Haven, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, or a charity of choice.
