Our beautiful, loving and classy Mom has left this world.
Dorothy Jean (George) French, member of the great Anishinaabek Nation family located at Kettle and Stoney Point has crossed over into Spirit world.
Dorothy has completed her Earthly walk. She has transitioned out of this world and began her spirit journey home to Creator.
Born in Sarnia, Ontario, October 3, 1952 at the age of 73. She took her last breath on September 8, 2025 at her residence in Chippewa of the Thames First Nation.
The third child of Melford George baa and Ellen (Henry) baa of Kettle Point. Grand daughter of Ross Henry baa and Winnifred Shawkence baa and Morris George baa and Flora Smith baa all of Kettle Point.
Those gone on before her will welcome and greet her. They will also provide her with guidance on journey into Creators arms.
She walked beside Eldon French (Chippewas of the Thames) for 50 years during this life time. Eldon loved acting silly around Dorothy just to see her smile and hear her laugh.
Four souls came to into this world through Dorothy: Ian, James (Wellsee), Jenifer Adele, and Tyler. Wellsee and Tyler remained close to her, while Ian created his own space on Earth. Her daughter Jennifer Adele was called back to Creator on the same day she arrived (12-25-1981). Wellsee and Tyler spent much of their time with their Mother throughout her life.
Honouring of the Special Mother and daughter relationship with Patricia George and Andrea Gough is lovingly acknowledged.
Dorothy had the privilege to be called Gram/Nookmis by Hailey, Zackery, Brooke (Amber) and Bridget (Dave) and Great grandma to Noah Dunlop.
Dorothy leaves behind siblings Rea, Louise, and Doug all from Kettle Point and Phillip from Wallaceburg.
She will be greeted into Creators world by brothers, Roger baa, Alexander (Chum) baa, Albert (Elvis) baa, and Alvin (Kick) baa.
She will be sadly missed by her dear family, friends, traditional and clan relatives.
Dorothy proudly acknowledged the sisterly love she had for Jean Landry, Carol and Nancy Peters, Liz, Mel, Clarice, Laura, Robin, Wink Nahdee, Adele Altiman, and Gail Sands baa. These women nurtured and cared for her during her wandering years and continued to do so through her life.
She was blessed to be referenced as spiritual sister to Jacqueline Miskokomon, Mary Whiteye, MaryAnn Spencer, Yvonne Antone baa and Heather Green baa.
Dorothy loved being around her cousins, sharing memories and laughing at their silly antics and teasing each other. Guided in life by her cousin Jean was her constant connection to the Henry side of her family. She found her connection to her George family through Glen baa.
Her tenacity for living life was expressed in her love for being outdoors, camping and swimming. She often spoke water was her first friend. She was most comfortable in her silence.
This star has fallen from the sky!
Your love will forever live in our hearts!
Your stories will bring joy and laughter!
Until we hold you again! You will live on in all of us…
