Obituary of Douglas Windsor
Douglas Henry Windsor
June 2, 1931 – June 15, 2025
Doug, a dear husband, father, and uncle passed away on Father’s Day (June 15th) at Hospice. He had just celebrated his 94th Birthday on June 2nd.
Doug spent 30+ years working at Hiram Walker’s where he was known for his diligent work ethics and friendly demeanor. He so enjoyed his work and the fellow employees.
Doug loved the outdoors and was a gifted gardener. His talents were also very present in his woodworking abilities. He loved a friendly chat, especially if it contained banter about the “Detroit Tigers” who he had followed since childhood. He shared his knowledge with others and created many lifelong memories for us.
Doug is survived by his wife Irene (just short of their 70th Wedding Anniversary), his son Gregory (Key) of Toronto, and his daughter Janis, of Windsor.
He was predeceased by his mother Lil, father Bill, brother Bill Jr., and sister Doreen.
As per Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a “Celebration of Life” on Thursday, July 10th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (4401 Mount Royal Drive, Windsor) with visitation at 11 am, followed by a service at 12 pm (Noon).
If you so desire, memorial donations may be made to: Canadian Cancer Society “Wheels of Hope – Volunteer Driving Program”, WRH Cancer Centre, or Hospice of Windsor.
Our sincere thanks to his wonderful Medical Team.
Arrangements entrusted to the Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E Windsor (519)253-7235
