McGREGOR: DOROTHY
It is with sadness that we announce our mothers’ passing.
Peacefully with family by her side, Dorothy (Dodds) McGregor passed away at Clinton Public Hospital on July 2, 2025.
Dearly loved mother of Larry (Karen) McGregor of Zurich, Glenn (Hope) McGregor of Bluewater Township. She is also survived by her brother Don Dodds and his family, 14 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Fred, daughter Karen (Gordon) Yeo, parents William and Pearl Dodds, and sister-in-law Maja Dodds.
Family was everything to mom. She loved to hear everything that was going on in the family, praised all of our accomplishments, treated all of us equally, played games with her grandchildren, and would join her great grandchildren on the floor with their toys. She could not have been a more humble, caring, and generous person who lived her life with Jesus by her side and followed his teachings throughout her life as an example for her family.
Mom worked as a Health Care Aide at; Huronview, Clinton, Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock, and Lambton Nursing Home, Petrolia. She was a member of the Rebekahs and Independent Order of the Oddfellows and continued to contribute and attended meetings when she could.
Music and the church filled her life. She was organist and choir leader at the 1908 Brucefield United Church and the existing church. She sang in the choirs of all the churches she attended, with a sweet, true and enchanting soprano voice, singing her last solo at Brucefield Community United Church in her late 80’s. She sang in the choir up until she went into the hospital.
She held dear friends over the years and cherished the lifelong bond between her maid of honor Betty Hulley, Goderich, and Jean Thompson, Lions Head. They surely will miss her phone calls.
Friends will be received at the Brucefield Community United Church, 10 London Rd., Brucefield on Monday July 7, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1 p.m.
Interment of Ashes at Baird’s Cemetery at a later date.
