ELVA KATHLEEN “KATIE” OATMAN
June 17, 1941 – May 21, 2025
With saddened hearts, the family of Kathleen “Katie” (Church) Oatman announce her passing at her home in Tillsonburg on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of the Late John “Bud” Oatman (1987) and the Late William “Bill” Oatman (2000). Proud and loving mother of Richard Oatman, Robert “Rob” Oatman, Randy Oatman (Brenda), Ronnie Oatman and Tammy Harrison (Shannon). Cherished grandmother of R.J., Billy, Tasha, Dustin, Kelsey, Erin, Adam, Mike, Tammara and many great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Mildred Pourchez, Marlene Martin (David) and Murray Church. Katie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Wellington and Alta (Birce) Church, her sister Glenda Tillotson and brother Bob Church.
Katie spent many years volunteering for different organizations. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting for nursing homes and hospitals for the church missions. Katie also loved to travel and go to baseball games to cheer on her team but Katie’s favourite pastime was spending time with her family whom she loved more than anything.
In keeping with Katie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will host A Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Katie’s home. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Tillsonburg Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to VON-Sakura House or Ronald McDonald House may be made directly online or by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted by the Oatman family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Care Partners Team for their care and compassion throughout Katie’s battle.
