With sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Neil Powell, at the age of 74 years, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury.
Neil was a veteran and a valued member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 85. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed riding his motorcycle, gardening, playing darts and washers at the Legion, and watching football.
Neil will be greatly missed by his spouse, Lise Plamondon Routhier; his mother, Marie-France Powell; his brothers: Gary, Mark, and Robert; as well as his stepchildren: Angèle Nadeau (Paul), and Robert Routhier. Neil was the beloved “Pops” to Luc Routhier, Stéphanie Routhier, Annabelle Nadeau, and Mylène Nadeau; “dad” to his puppy, Sophie; as well as a wonderful brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many people.
Neil was predeceased by his father, George.
A celebration of Neil’s life will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion. Donations to Animal Rescue Kapuskasing would be greatly appreciated as expression of sympathy. ©
C’est avec tristesse que nous annonçons le décès hâtif de Neil Powell, à l’âge de 74 ans, le jeudi 8 mai 2025, à Horizon Santé Nord à Sudbury.
Neil était un ancien combattant et un membre estimé de la filiale 85 de la Légion royale canadienne. Dans ses temps libres, il aimait beaucoup se promener sur sa motocyclette, jardiner, jouer aux fléchettes et aux rondelles à la Légion, et regarder le football.
Neil manquera beaucoup à son épouse, Lise Plamondon Routhier; à sa mère, Marie-France Powell; à ses frères : Gary, Mark et Robert; ainsi que ses beaux-enfants : Angèle Nadeau (Paul) et Robert Routhier. Neil était le « pops » bien-aimé de Luc Routhier, Stéphanie Routhier, Annabelle Nadeau, et Mylène Nadeau ; « papa » de son chiot, Sophie ; ainsi qu’un beau-frère, un oncle et un ami merveilleux pour beaucoup de gens.
Neil fut prédécédé par son père, George.
Une célébration de la vie de Neil aura lieu le jeudi 22 mai 2025, de 13 h à 16 h, à la Légion royale canadienne. La famille sera très reconnaissante de dons au Refuge pour animaux de Kapuskasing comme témoignages de sympathie. ©
