Hans Werner Wachner Obituary
Passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025 surrounded by family at exactly 88 years old. Hans was born on April 27, 1937 in East Germany. As refugees, he fled with his family to Sprenge. At the age of 15, he moved to Lüthringhausen to serve his apprenticeship, and that’s where he met his future wife.
Hans moved from Murdochville to Millgrove, where he bought a hobby farm and raised his family for the last 59 years.
Hans is lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Ulla Wachner, his son, Thomas Wachner (Megan Bennett), and his grandchildren, Krista Stultz, Rachel Riepert (Scott), and Nicole Wachner. He joins his daughter Barbara Wachner, who passed away 5 years ago.
Hans leaves behind a legacy of cousins, family in Germany and Canada, coworkers he met over 30 years ago with Stelco, and his “family” on Edgewood Road.
Loved by many, remembered by all.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 2-3 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., where a Funeral Service will take place at 3 p.m. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
