Kenneth Allaby
(1964-2025)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of Kenneth Gordon Allaby on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2025 at his home at 2nd Eel River Lake, NB. He was just short of his 61st birthday. Ken was born on May 9th, 1964 in Woodstock, NB to the late Lloyd and Ann (Quartermain) Allaby.
In addition to his parents, Ken is predeceased by his brother, Peter Allaby (Krista Bird).
Nothing was more important to Ken than family. He is survived by many loving family members, none more important than his loving wife, Jennifer Allaby. He is also survived by his brother, Greg Allaby (Christine), nephews Andrew Allaby and Sheldon Dow (Cornelia), nieces Deidre Everett (Joel), Jarika, Miranda, Brooklyn & Kolten Allaby and very special great-nieces and nephews, Violet, Seth, Kyla, Alice and Charlotte. Additionally, Ken is survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, colleagues and furry friends.
Ken graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from UNB in 1987 and upon graduation worked for a short time at Day & Ross. He then moved on to work for McCain Foods where he would work for 30+ years. His job with McCain Foods took he and Jenn around the world with stops in Chicago and The Netherlands. More recently, Ken found a new love of teaching as he taught finance at NBCC in Woodstock.
Ken met Jenn in 1994 and the two married 5 years later in 1999. From day one they were always “Ken and Jenn”; rarely one without the other. This was a love story that most can only dream of. The two shared an affinity for travel, good food and wine, hosting their family and friends, and living the good life at the lake.
It was hard to find someone more down to earth and kind than Ken. It did not matter who you were, Ken would treat you with kindness and compassion. He was the definition of a peacekeeper, always kept his cool and never took life too seriously. His sense of humor and calm demeanor made him so easy to be around. It was no wonder he was loved by all and left an impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
There will be no funeral service or visitation as per the family’s wishes.
There will be a celebration of life to honor Ken at the Woodstock Golf and Curling Club on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 from 1-4pm.
Donations can be made in Ken’s memory to Diabetes Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Please share a special memory of Ken or send expressions of sympathy for the family to: www.culbersonfuneralhome.com.
