Smith, David Haldane – With sadness, we announce that David passed away peacefully in the presence of his children on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
David was born in Port Glasgow, Scotland, on April 19, 1933. At the age of 21, he emigrated to find a new life in Canada. He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Nancy Helen Smith, whom he met soon after arriving inToronto, Ontario.
He was a loving father to his children David (Christine) Smith of Ingersoll, Catherine Belzner of Port Burwell, and Robert (Betty) of Port Rowan. He loved spoiling his grandchildren Heather, Christopher, Jessica, Josh (Jen) and his great granddaughter Lily.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no celebration of life. He did not like a fuss to be made of him.
