In Loving Memory
GREIG, John Fraser – Age 80, of St. Joseph’s Island, ON, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 in Bluewater Hospital, Sarnia. He is also affectionately known to many as “Ming”, “John Guy Water Ski” and “Johnny Six Pack.”
Born, January 13, 1945, he was a son of the late Dr. Charles and Dorothy (Walkom) Greig.
John is survived by his son, Todd Greig; daughter, Andrea (Mark) Reside; his one and only favourite granddaughter, Trista Dugas; sisters, Barbara Nori, Susan Watson & Lynne (Dr. Paul) Hergott; sister-in-law, Carol Greig; many cousins, nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Dr. David Greig; brothers-in-law, Gerry Nori and Colin Watson.
John will be fondly remembered for his love of music. In his earlier years, John was an accomplished guitar player. He was a member of a band he formed with friends, “The Renaissance Singers”. He always had great music playing and you could always hear him singing or humming a tune.
There was nothing he loved more than time spent at the cottage on St. Joseph’s Island. He loved boating, fishing and good times spent with family and friends. John loved to cook, entertain and have cocktail hour with his friends.
Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Matthew’s Memorial Hospital (matthewsmha.ca/).
The family would like to thank the staff of Bluewater Hospital (4th floor) Sarnia, for their compassionate care shown to John and his family.
