Obituary of Stephen Alexander “JoJo” Muise, New Waterford
It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Stephen Alexander “JoJo” Muise on March 3, 2025 surounded by his loving family. He was a loving and devoted father, papa, brother, uncle and a wonderful friend to all.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Albert “Alby” and Catherine (Campbell) Muise.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Alec “Brick” and Susie Campbell, Peter and Bessie Muise; brother, Raymond (Red) ; nieces, Paige and June Attwood .
Stephen was a member of the New Waterford pensioners and the ANAF, Unit 217, where in recent years, he bartended and enjoyed calling bingo. He drove cab for midway taxi for 26 years where he met countless people who became friends and some even like family. He also worked at JTs as a bartender and bouncer.
Stephen enjoyed gardening, watching Monday night Raw, playing darts and bingo. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and long drives with Tim Hortons in hand.
Stephen is survived by his companion, Linda, whom he cherished dearly; children, Stephen (Lauren), Jay R (Melissa), Brandy, Jennifer, Keith, Joey, Lauren (AJ), Wilfie (Alex), Jerimy (Hannah); his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and were the light of his life, Gracelyn, Zion , Cheyenne, James, Colbie, Kinley, Tommy, Emmett, Cole, Hailey, Lainey and great-grandson, Lorenzo; sister, Valerie (JB) and special niece, Nicole (Gordie); nieces, Rosie, Madison, Amanda, Alesha, Vanessa, Klohe, Kylie and nephews, Bradley, Matthew, Benjamin, Denver, Raymond and Godchild, Emma; his aunt, Dorothy Parr and aunt, Delores McLellan; Ricky (Tenie), Jody (Helen), Tommy (Isabel), coffee buddy, Donna, and his faithful companion, his fur baby, Rocky.
Thank you to the Regional Hospital ER and staff. Special thanks to the 2nd floor staff of New Waterford Hospital for the care and compassion for going above and beyond making sure his needs were always met in his last days. There is no words to express our gratitude for all the care he received.
He will be fondly remembered by all for his loud booming voice.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Father Godwin Obike officiating. A reception will follow at the Army, Navy and Air Force, 495 Smith Street, New Waterford. Burial will be held in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
