Dianne’s Obituary
Dianne Margaret Burton – 66, of Lawrencetown passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Corner Brook, Nfld, on November 6, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Abe and Madeline (McCarthy) Burton. Dianne was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 112, Lawrencetown. She loved going to the Legion on jam nights playing and singing her heart out. On most Sundays, you would find Dianne at several senior complexes throughout the Valley, playing and singing for the seniors who enjoyed seeing her walking through the door. Dianne also enjoyed karaoke nights either at the Middleton Legion or Lawrencetown Legion. Dianne loved camping, campfires, and going on the side by side with Kim. She was known as the “Queen of Fox Mountain.” She was predeceased by her mom Madeline (McCarthy) Burton (Dec 1983), her dad Abe Burton (April 2006), and her brother Dave Burton (Nov 2023). Left to mourn are John (Marian), Martin (Irene), Gary (Hilda), Paul, Darrel (Rebecca), Ray (Rose); as well as her sister by heart, Kim (Randy) Hobbs; and chosen niece Crystal Hobbs. There will be a Legion service at 2:00 pm followed by a reception to celebrate Dianne’s life all in the Royal Canadian Legion No. 112, Lawrencetown on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Presided by Chaplain Rev. Andrew Taylor. Donations in memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 112, Lawrencetown.
